Chicago Metro Chapter Volunteers at Northern Illinois Food Bank

For 2 1/2 hours on Tuesday January 17th, 18 volunteers packed boxes, which will be distributed to many charities.

Last year, NIFB distributed a record 35 million pounds of food through a network of 537 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and youth feeding sites in 13 counties across northern Illinois. This 28% increase over last year reflects the continuing increase in demand for food assistance.
