How to List Your Opportunity on the Chicago ....

The APWA Chicago Metro Chapter hosts a FREE virtual job board to highlight local opportunities in the Public Works field. This job board is separate from APWA Workzone

Would you like to list a new opportunity on our job board? If so, please determine if your agency qualifies and then follow the steps below to request a listing.

QUALIFICATIONS - You do not need to be a member of the APWA Chicago Metro Chapter to request a job listing. However, the job opportunity must be located in Illinois and in/near the Chicago Metro Chapter; this link will take you to the Chicago Metro Chapter boundary map.

 HOW TO PROCEED - Email the job listing as a MS Word file to

Typical listing details:

  • Position Title
  • Name of City (office location)
  • Organization Name
  • Job Category - Academic/University, Construction Management, Director of Public Works, Engineering and Technology, Facilities, Fleet Services, Grounds and Urban Forestry, Other, Solid Waste, Transportation, Water and Sewer, Water and Sewer: Stormwater (a category will be selected if not provided in the request)
  • Job Type - Contract, Contract to hire permanent, Full Time, Internship, Part Time (a type will be selected if not provided in the request)
  • Salary and Benefits (optional)
  • Listing Description - include a brief description of the opportunity, details/links for how to apply, etc.
  • Posting Deadline (or at least 30 calendar days from publishing date if no deadline provided in the request)
  • Full Job Description (optional; please submit as a separate file in PDF format).

The Website Committee will typically check for and post new listings on Tuesdays and Thursdays. You will be notified via email once your listing is published on the website; the email will include a link to the listing for your review.
