The Village of Wilmette is seeking to fill the part-time Front Counter Assistant position in the Engineering & Public Works Department. The person in this position will work approximately 20 hours per week.
The person in this position will provide customer service support to the general public. Duties will include answering the telephone, responding to emails, entering electronic work orders, communicating with employees working outdoors, responding to walk-in service requests, assisting with preparing payroll, data entry, maintaining department files, department purchasing, and other responsibilities as assigned.
The successful candidate should be flexible but generally available to work 20 hours per week, possess excellent communication skills, be detail oriented, possess the ability to multitask and develop positive working relationships with co-workers. Candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and be able to learn the Village’s enterprise software program and online Citizen/Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Experience in working with the general public in a customer service role in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
Starting Hourly Rate:
The wage rate is $18.82/hour. This position includes participation in a retirement plan through the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), and ability to participate in medical, dependent care and transportation flexible spending accounts.
