The Maintenance Worker position is under the general supervision of a Public Works Foreman. The position performs operation, maintenance and repair activities for the Village’s infrastructure to enhance the quality of life in our exceptional community. The position performs various Public Works activities within the operational areas of streets, traffic, land and forestry, water distribution, and, sanitary and storm sewer systems. The position performs tasks in response to emergency overtime situations including snow and ice control.
This position is physically demanding and requires semi-skilled manual labor and the operation of a variety of light and heavy-duty equipment. Working knowledge and experience in Public Works activities; skill in operating power tools and equipment; and effective communication skills. Candidates must exhibit a passion for public service, and willingness to work overtime and respond to off-hour emergencies. Candidate must be a high school graduate or have GED.
Candidate shall be required to have a Class B CDL with air-brake and tanker endorsement or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire as a condition of continued employment.
