The Village of Wilmette is seeking to fill a part-time Accounts Receivable Clerk position in the Finance Department. The person in this positon will work up to 28 hours per week.

General Responsibilities:

The person in this position will be responsible for providing superior and professional front line customer service in-person and via phone. This position will post customer payments by recording cash, checks and credit card transactions; and securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts. This position will prepare monthly account statements for general billing customers, and investigates any account discrepancies.  

Position Requirements:

The successful candidate will be a high school graduate, and have knowledge of office administration and basic bookkeeping procedures. Must be able to type 30+ words per minute. Two years of prior experience in an accounts receivable position is preferred but not mandatory.

Essential position requirements include the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and the ability to prioritize, organize and complete required duties in a timely and accurate manner. Ideal candidates must be able to coordinate effectively and develop positive working relationships with co-workers. The candidate should be proficient in various business computer software packages, including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Tyler Technologies’ MUNIS financial software.

Starting Salary:

The starting salary is $22.28 per hour, to include participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF), and ability to participate the Flexible Spending Account Program for medical, dependent care and transportation expenses.

Selection Process:

Candidate should be prepared to take a written exam related to tasks that may be encountered on the job and undergo a thorough background investigation.
