Conflict Resolution Training

Description :

This training program is through the Waubonsee Community College Workforce Development group and will focus on Conflict Resolution as a critical skill needed in the workplace. Whether between individuals or teams, or between employees and customers, at some point, conflict will arise and will need to be addressed. Different people with different goals and needs come into conflict and often result in personal animosity. But resolving conflict doesn’t need to be a negative experience, in fact, managing conflict can be a catalyst for positive change.

Specific learning outcomes will be identified based on the training focus:

  • Identify your preferred strategy for handling conflict.

  • Understand the characteristics and drawbacks of each typical approach to conflict.

  • Recognize the various sources of conflict that most often occur in the workplace.

  • Learn strategies for effectively resolving conflicts that stem from each source.

  • Proactively address issues before they escalate into problems.

  • Learn strategies in dealing with an angry customer, including issues encountered on social media.

The trainer has 35 years of experience in corporate leadership roles managing production teams and administrative groups, as well as extensive training experience in a variety of industries including manufacturing, healthcare, banking, non-profit, and government.

4.0Professional Development Hours (PDH) certificates of training will be provided for attendees.  This will benefit PE’s who are required to earn 30 hours of continuing education every two years.  Proceeds from this seminar will help fund the Fox Valley Branch Scholarship Program.  Space is limited to 30 attendees so sign up early.
